Recently, Gabe got to spend a week with Grammy and Papa! Grammy was off from work for the week and Papa took some half days. They were busy, busy, busy..... They went to dutch wonderland with friends.... they went to a super fun birthday party... they went to the playground and played on Gabe's new playset... they had fun dinners out... they went shopping and spent lots of time at the pool! I think Gabe's favorite part was riding on Papa's yellow truck (the polaris) Every evening Gabe would insist that Papa took him for a ride on the yellow truck. So every evening they would load up and go for long rides around the farm! Gabe is still talking about Papa's yellow truck!! Here are some pics that Grammy took during their week of fun!

While Gabe was away, Andy and I enjoyed a lot of R&R :) This was our first time away from Gabe for any length of time (except for me working the weekends) We stayed up late, had fun dinners out, went to the movies and caught up on Redbox flicks, slept in... and even felt our first earthquake. We picked Gabe up just in time for the 2nd natural disaster of the week... Hurricane Irene!
I don't think we realized how much we needed this break! We definately missed our little guy... and it definately made me sad when he was too busy to talk to us on the phone (which he normally LOVES to do) but it made us realize how important it is for us to make time for us!
