Until next time...

As Gabe grows bigger and learns more and more things... it is time to say "until next time"' to a few items that Gabe has enjoyed over these last 9 months. It always makes me sad to pack away his clothes... as I'm packing them away I'm remembering certain days that he wore them... or remembering how cute he looked in a particular outfit. I'm also thinking about how quickly time is flying by and how my sweet baby boy will never be quite that little again. As I fold his clean clothes and place them in a storage bag... I tell myself... it's not goodbye. It's "until next time". I know that I will see these adorable little outfits again... not on Gabe... but hopefully on his "one day" brother. (Or as Andy likes to say... our next puppy!)
Well today, for the first time, it is time to say "until next time" to a few of his baby things. Things that he spent many hours playing in or on. Things that he starting using when he was only a few weeks old. Things that bought me time so that I could get things done around the house. Things that I will actually miss seeing ( or should I say tripping on) around the house.

I'm a Cowboy Baby!

In keeping with the cowboy theme.... I decided to try Gabe's "cowboy" outfit on him for the millionth time! His "God Grandparents" gave him this adorable outfit shortly after he was born. I have been anxiously waiting for this outfit to fit... well today was the day (it was huge on him... but we made it work)

Weekend fun

Since Gabe had such a good time at the park earlier in the week, we decided to go again over the weekend... so Andy could join in the fun. The weather was beautiful when we left the house... but it quickly changed... and man was it cold and windy! Unfortunately, because of the weather, our trip to the park was cut short... but not before we enjoyed some swing and slide time :)

Gabe's buddy Jackson turned 1 this week! We had so much fun taking Gabe to his first big birthday party!

Top Teeth

Well, after lots of tears.... lots of tylenol... and lots of sleepless nights... Gabe's top teeth have finally come in....

Swingin' fun!

I decided to give the swings yet another try. Last time he fell asleep almost instantly! But not today. Today Gabe had a blast! He was smiley and full of laughter. He even made some 7-8 month old friends. He just loved watching all the kids running around and it was sooo nice to be out in the sunshine. After a good 30 minutes of swingin' fun... I fed him... changed him... and he took a nap in the stroller while I hiked the trail that is near the playground...

Clipping coupons

Sunday mornings mean one thing in this house.... BJ's Wholesale! Andy absolutely loves this store... as for me... well... I'd rather get a cavity filled. The only time I've ever enjoyed going to BJ's was when I was 6 months pregnant and Andy would promise to buy me a hotdog if I went with him. But now... I am off the hook! No more bribery... because Gabe has become his little shopping companion! These two strategically plan their shopping trip... gotta get there before 9am and go immediately to the deli... otherwise... the line is too long...yada yada yada... And before they can leave the house... they've gotta get their coupons together!! Here are some pictures of Gabe helping daddy find the good coupons!

Eight Months!

Time flies when you're having fun! Gabe is 8 months now! (and he was very cooperative for his photos this month!) He and I both are just loving spring and have been enjoying lots and lots of time outside! He absolutely loves wearing his shorts and having his "piggies" out (makes it a lot easier to suck on if you don't have to deal with taking a sock off!)

At eight months he sits well by himself... and has absolutley NO desire to crawl. He is happy as a clam just sitting and playing with his toys. Crawling would involve being on your tummy and he wants NO part of that!! He is happy to stand though. These days EVERYTHING goes into his mouth... and he continues to eat like a champ (although we have been on a veggie strike lately) He has 4 teeth now... his two bottom front teeth and his upper incisors (wierd I know... he's going to look like a vampire) He has learned to vocalize his dislikes quite well (why didn't anyone tell me that tantrums start this early. I honestly thought I was good until he hit two!!) He has also learned to throw things in a fit of rage. But my all time favorite thing he is doing at eight months... is giving kisses! It is so sweet. He opens his mouth big and wide and will plant a big slobbery wet kiss right on your cheek. I'll try and capture a video of this!
