Giddy Up

This is one of my favorite pictures of Gabe. It was taken a few weeks ago in Ocean City. It was taken on a very special night...a night where just my little boy and myself had a mommy/son date. We walked along the boardwalk, played in the sand, ate boardwalk junk food, and went on not one... but two carousel rides.

He looks like such a big boy in this picture... with a big happy grin... clutching his 4 little orange tickets. We took this picture to send to daddy :)

Matapeake Dog Beach

We've been having a lot of fun exploring some of the local parks and beaches. On this particular day, we took Zoey to a super fun dog beach! This beach is only 20 minutes from us and it overlooks the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Zoey was a very good girl and had a great time "retrieving" sticks. Andy, Gabe, and I also had a great time splashing around... the water was significantly warmer than the Atlantic Ocean :) and Gabe could easily walk around in it. While it's not Ocean City, it's nice to know that when we just need a quick little beach day we can drive 20 mins and be there :)

4th of July weekend in O.C.

We had a fun and relaxing 4th of July weekend at the beach! While in OC we enjoyed... boardwalk fun, dough roller pizza and thrashers french fries, sun, sand, and lots of fun beach playdates :)

Gabe mostly played in the sand and in his little pool... he was a little fearful of the ocean and understandably so...the waves were a bit rough that weekend....so rough that poor Andy lost his prescription sunglasses :( When we would take Gabe down to the water he would say repeatedlly, "All Done"!

He did however, enjoy watching all of the airplanes and boats go by and he had fun collecting sandcrabs with Grammy.

This is our friend Julianna...

I think Gabe was ready for a nap!

We even had a fun playdate with our adorable cousin...Char Char!

Santa Baby

The 411:

We are expecting a new little arrival around Christmas time.... January 2nd is the "official" due date.

I am currently 15 weeks pregnant and of course... just like with Gabe...I have been sick sick sick! I have been taking an anti-puking med that seems to help some of the time.... and I stumbled upon saltine flavored goldfish crackers (Gods gift to sick pregnant women)

I have had a few ultrasounds and so far and everything is looking good!

Our BIG ultrasound is scheduled for Aug 3rd...the BIG one where they can say pink or blue... however, we have decided to go with green. While I'm 95% certain this baby is a boy... (everyone knows Hansons don't "make" girls) we are going to wait until the big day to find out. Christmas time is going to be an incredibly difficult time for our family this year... so we'd like to have this extra special surprise to look forward to...

Unfortunately the beloved Nurse Midwife, Ms. Claude, will not be delivering this baby :( (I really really love her too!) ...it's just too far away.... and I do not want to be riding in the car for an hour and a half when I'm in labor. We found a doctor that we like, close to home, and we plan on having this baby at a hospital which is only 30 mins away!

We have started talking about names but nothing is really jumping out at us... we do know that we would like to honor Adam in some way....

While Mr. Gabe knows where mommy's baby is and loves giving my belly kisses... the poor guy has NO IDEA how his world is about to change!!! I kind of feel bad for him! I just keep reminding myself that one day he'll thank me....and.... a new baby means Gabe gets a new big boy room!!

Stay tuned for more baby 411 :)

Tuckahoe State Park

We recently stumbled upon this neat little park that has an amazing playground, made entirely out of recycled tires! We can't wait to spend many more afternoons here. There were pavillions with picnic tables and grills, hiking trails, and a beautiful pond!

Happy Birthday Pop-Pop and Pop-Pop Jr.

Gabe's Pop-pop and Pop-Pop Jr both had BIG birthdays this year! In fact they share the same birthday of June 10th! Because this was a BIG year for both of them...we had a little party to celebrate. There was family, food, and of course cake! Ever since this birthday party, Gabe has been singing the "Happy Birthday" song non-stop!!

After the birthday party, we decided to move things to this quiet little pond nearby. PPJ brought worms and even bought Gabe his very own fishing pole (which he will be 16 before he grows into!!!) It was great... you cast the line and within seconds you had a fish.... the best kind of fishing! Gabe just loved the fishies :)

Happy Birthday Pop-pop and PPJ! We love you!
