Christmas with the Laatsch family....

This year we celebrated with the Laatsch family the day after Christmas. It was so nice getting to spend the day with everyone and not having to rush around like we usually do on Christmas day. We celebrated at Mom-mom and Pop-pop's house. Gabe actually slept for most of the day.... I think he was so worn out from all of our traveling. Of course I didn't mind too much... because this meant that I actually got to sit down and enjoy dinner with the family :)

Gabe is the first Great Grandchild on the Laatsch side of the family.

Babys 1st Christmas

We woke up Christmas morning and drove from Salisbury to Grammy's house. Gabe was such a good boy and loved playing with all of his new toys! After spending the day at Grammy's, we headed home to see what Santa left for Gabe at our house....
Looks like someone was a good boy...
Gabe and Zoey are trying to figure out this whole jumperoo thing...

Santa brought Zoey a cool fleece for Christmas!

Christmas at Grammy's.

Like most children this age... he was mostly impressed by the paper, bow, and boxes.

Uncle Adam is taking him for a ride with his new wheels.

Merry Christmas Gabe!

Christmas Eve in Salisbury

Our Christmas celebrations began on Christams Eve in Salisbury. We had a great time just hanging out with the family. Gabe especially loved playing with his big cousin Owen. Owen took such good care of his little cousin... he is going to be a great big brother!! He loved holding Gabe, making sure he had his tee-tee (blanket) at all times, and he even helped with putting on Gabe's socks. Here are some photos with the Hanson family....

What is this!?!

Gabe received an early Christmas present from his Pop-Pop.... a big boy highchair! He just loves sitting in it and watching Andy and I buzz around the kitchen. With the arrival of this highchair, we decided we would go ahead and try out this whole rice cereal thing...

Here he is trying out his new highchair... and Zoey is already looking for scraps!

It's all smiles until that rice cereal enters the mouth...

Ummm... NOPE! Don't like this mom! Not one bit!
Not gonna do it... not gonna open my mouth!!!

A Snowy Saturday

Here in Maryland, we got over a foot and a half of beautiful snow! We decided to bundle up Gabe and take him outdoors to experience this winter wonderland. I'm not totally surprised that he wasn't a fan. We literally walked outside... snapped some pictures... and headed back indoors!

Christmas party with Aunt Amy

Gabe got all dressed up to go to a Christmas party with Aunt Amy. While he was partying, Andy and I had a fabulous date! We had dinner... sat at the bar... and even had a drink! Afterwards we stopped at the bakery for some yummy treats and then headed home to get some gift wrapped! Here are some pictures of our little cutie...

Naptime with Santa!

Since Santa was such a huge hit the first time around... we decided to visit him again... mine as well... we had some shopping to do and because it was during the week, there was no line! Well, I guess all of our shopping wore the little guy out because he was out like a light. Soooo Gabe and Santa curled up together and took a little snooze! Santa was thankful that we stopped by to see him... he said he had had a very busy day and was very happy to get some much needed rest!

Apparently, Santa told Gabe he was looking for a new elf...

4 months already!?!

I say this every month but it's really hard to believe my little guy is 4 months already! It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with him! At our 4 month check-up, Gabe weighed in at 14lbs 14oz( 50th percentile) and was 25 1/2 inches (75th percentile).... which means he has put on over 8lbs since he was born and has grown 7 1/2 inches!
The poor little guy had to get 4 shots at his check-up... he cried but was quickly comforted with love from his mommy and daddy! His doctor also gave us the green light for starting rice cereal...I'll be sure to post some pics of this! Something tells me Gabe is going to be a good little eater!

Baptism

On December 5, 2009, Gabriel Benton Hanson was baptized. The baptism took place at Grammy's house. We gathered around the family room with our family and friends as Gabe was blessed. He was such a good boy and actually dozed off in my arms during the ceremony. He did however, perk right up when water was sprinkled on his head.
The most memorable part of the day was looking out the family room windows during the baptism and seeing these beautiful, white flakes falling from the sky and creating this amazing, soft blanket of snow. This was Gabriel's first snow and I can't help but think it was God's way of reminding us that he has been and will continue to watch over our sweet little boy.
My mom reminded us that on my christening day, there also was a snow storm. The snow storm was so bad that they had my christening party but had to postpone the actual christening until a later date.

We were so busy getting Gabe ready that it wasn't until we stepped outside that we saw the beautiful snowflakes! Although, it just looks rainy and wet in this picture...

Gabe is so lucky and so loved! Here is a picture of Gabe with ALL of his Great Grandparents and Grandparents.

Instead of the traditional Godparents, Gabe has TWO Godmothers...
Aunt Beth
and Aunt Amy
here comes the water...
Reverend Nick also married Andy and I...

Here is a slide show with some more pics of this amazing day!
