I have put off working on this post for some time now because it's still so difficult to think about losing Adam...because it's been over a year now but it's still just as painful as the day we put him to rest...but here goes...with my tissues in hand...
Around Christmas time, my mom got wind of a charity 5K, honoring a local Harford county woman that had passed... and her wheels started turning... And anyone that knows my mom, knows that whenever she does something...she does it BIG! So she was able to get together with some of the "race planning veterans" and she teamed up with Upper Chesapeake Memorial Hospital as well as Harford Community College... and with weekly meetings/e-mails/phone calls... the Adam Thompson 5K run/walk began to unfold...
Unlike Adam's funeral where everyone gathered to say "goodbye"... this day was filled with family and friends... gathering to celebrate and honor life. Spite the gloomy weather with rain and slightly cool temps, this day was filled with lots of positive energy and was very uplifting...
OK, that's enough... I'm getting too emotional... let's just say it was a really cool day... one that I will always remember... and here are the pics :)
